WHAT IF!
WHAT IF YOU AWOKE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT TO FIND YOUR HOME ON FIRE!
WHAT IF YOUR FATHER STARTED HAVING CHEST PAINS!
WHAT IF YOUR DAUGHTER WAS HIT BY A CAR ON HER WAY TO A FRIEND'S HOUSE!

Things like this happen all the time and someone needs to be there to answer the call when our family, friends or neighbors need help.

What if you could be that person who can help? We can help you become that person. Think of how good it would feel to know you made a big difference on someone’s worst day of their life. After all when someone dials 911, its probably the worst day of their life.

As a member of the Maple Fire Department you can be trained as a firefighter, or medical first responder or both. You can work in one or all of these positions and you will be trained for FREE! As a firefighter you can start with in-house training to learn the basics and will be equipped with personal protective gear and a pager. If this is for you after you’ve tried it for a while we will send you to an NFPA certified course held nearby, in the evenings, at NO COST TO YOU! As a Medical First Responder, you will get the training and equipment to help save a life. This would also be an evening course. We also fight wildland fires.

As part of the Maple Volunteer Fire Department you will be able to help your fellow community members in many ways. As volunteers we help our community in fire, medical, accident, and safety emergencies. Fire department personnel are the initial responders in many emergency situations.

MEETINGS AND TRAINING

Fire Department business meetings are held on the last Wednesday each month at 7 p.m. at the Community Center. Training meetings are held on the third Tuesday each month, also at 6:30 p.m., at the Fire Hall. You don't need to make an appointment to come to a meeting and learn more about what you could do for your community. Just drop in and we will be glad to show you around, or call Chief Mike Lundeen at 715-363-2520 or email at mlundeenmaple@gmail.com. You can also join us on Facebook: Click Here

For those members who meet all of the criteria, they will be eligible for a yearly contribution by the Town of Maple and the State of Wisconsin into a retirement account. This is called the Length of Service Award or LOSA, as it is more commonly called.

So why do it?

There’s no greater feeling in the world than helping someone when they're having the worst day of their life.

Your office... is a 30,000 pound fire truck that can pump 1,500 gallons of water every minute.

You will become part of an elite team of professionals who the citizens of Maple entrust their lives and property to.

When the call comes, be SOMEBODY who helps!

Install and maintain smoke alarms on every level of your home and outside of sleeping areas.

In addition to ensuring your smoke alarms work properly, it is important to ensure you have a fire escape plan in place that has been practiced.
